Cars that look better in person.

13 August 2017 - 02:01 AM

Have you ever looked at a photograph or watched a video of a car and thought, "Wow, that is not good looking"? I have.  There are quite a few vehicles that I have felt that way, but today I saw a new 2018 Audi R8 V10. I could not stop looking at it. When I first saw the car unveiled in photographs a while back, I told myself that Audi had ruined the look of the car. Well, I don't think that anymore. It was gorgeous. I like it way more than the previous body style. I loved how the first gen (if you can call it that) looked in photographs and in person; but this new one, it looks so much better in person.

So, have you ever seen a photograph or video of a car and not liked it, but then seen said vehicle in person and said to yourself "wow"?

2018 Ford Mustang

Has anyone seen the pricing on the new 2018 Mustangs?

I can't believe a V8 starts at $35,095. With just a few options, It is over $45,000. Just Wow! But they do offer magnetic ride control, that is a plus. I just can't believe how much these vehicles are now, and when it comes to Mustangs, I don't want anything but a V8. I do wonder how these things handle now.

I had a 2011 Mustang GT 5.0 when it came out (I bought it in 2010), and I thought it handled way better than my old 2002 GT, and of course, it had way more power. I sold it after 3 years due to transmission issues. The MT-82 inside of it was not the best, but they have had 7 years to refine it. I may try to drive one and review it, just because I am really having a hard time seeing how this vehicle costs so much now. To me, $40k-$50k is not affordable performance. The base model EcoBoost starts out at $25k without options, and I know some people will say that the GT is an upscale model, but with Mustangs, since 93, the Cobra has been the top of the line model. I can somewhat look at the new GT and see that "hey you can get 90% of the Shelby GT 350 performance for $20k less (I say this due to dealer markup)," but $50k is just not affordable to me.

2016 Scion FR-S

21 May 2017 - 08:37 PM

Hey All,

I'm aGo and my cager ride is a 2016 Scion FR-S. I bought this car a year ago in June of 2016. I decided on this specific one because the Toyota 86 did not have the cheesy 86 boxer badge on the side fenders and I don't like the front grill. Also, that is the reason why I have the FR-S instead of the BRZ. I have had 2 Mazda RX-8's, a MazdaSpeed3, 2 2011 Mustang GT 5.0, a 2002 Mustang GT, a 1991 Honda CRX Si, a 1994 Honda Prelude Si, a 1998 Acura Integra GSR (for a week before it was broken into), a 1993 Ford Aerostar, a 1998 Ford Ranger, a 1996 Ford Exploder 5.0 AWD, a 1998 Ford Exploder Sport, a 2010 Toyota FJ Cruiser with a 6-speed manual (very important detail), and I still have a 2016 Toyota Prius.

My favorite car(s) out of that list is/was the Mazda RX-8's. I loved how they handled and revved forever. They have been replaced by the FR-S. I have lived with it completely stock for a year. I am starting to get that itch however. I am telling myself that I want a beefier sounding exhaust, but it is the first step down the rabbit hole.  I keep telling myself that it isn't really a speed thing, after all, that is why I have my 2013 Ninja ZX6R 636. But every time I get some alone time, I find myself browsing the parts web pages. Looking at exhausts, thinking, you know a nice suspension would go great with this car. Or sometimes I tell myself that "I have always wanted to install boost on my own car."

I have installed a bigger turbo and new exhaust on a Mazdaspeed3 myself, and it was fun, but you know, making an N/A car boosted, that is an accomplishment. But I digress, as of now, I am in a stock, daily-driven Scion FR-S with a 6-speed manual. I love this car, and if I do leave it stock (7 year warranty bruh), it is still my most favorite car that I have ever owned. I will keep everyone updated on my decisions in the near future. Until then, hello everybody and I can't wait to read everyone else's posts.
